The Long-Run Impact of a Universal Childcare Program on Maternal Work and Income
Michael Baker
Michael Baker is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Canada Research Chair in Economics and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. He is also a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Much of his current research focuses on how the interactions of public policy and parents’ economic decisions affect the developmental trajectories of young children, highlighting differences between boys and girls. He has also completed research on economic aspects of aging, immigration, gender issues and labour market standards and institutions. Professor Baker received his B. Commerce from the University of Toronto, his M.A. from York University and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
