Environmental Chemicals Exposure in Pregnancy and Across the Lifecourse

 

Dr. Jillian Ashley-Martin

Dr. Jillian Ashley-Martin, PhD is a Research Scientist within the Environmental Health, Science Research Bureau at Health Canada and is co-Principal Investigator of the Maternal-Infant Research on Environmental Chemicals (MIREC) study.  MIREC is a pan-Canadian pregnancy cohort study of approximately 2000 women and their children that investigates environmental chemical exposures during critical windows of development.  Dr. Ashley-Martin conducts research in the areas of perinatal and environmental epidemiology and has published over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts in these disciplines.  She received her MSc in Community Health & Epidemiology and PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from Dalhousie University, conducted postdoctoral research at the IWK Health Centre Perinatal Epidemiology Research Unit, and was a faculty member at the Washington University in St Louis School of Medicine.  Dr. Ashley-Martin has adjunct faculty appointments at Dalhousie University, University of Ottawa, and Washington University in St Louis School of Medicine.  She loves to ski, skate, and be outside with her dog.
